The 2021 Overwatch League season has now come to a close, and now, the fourth Overwatch League Champion has been named. Following a dominant year, and a dominant tournament, the Shanghai Dragons have taken the title, after blowing out the Atlanta Reign in a 4-0 series.
The win not only secured the Dragons the Championship title, but it also rewarded the Dragons organisation and the team a comfortable $1.5 million as a cash prize.
Now that the 2021 season has come to a close, we can expect a bunch of teams to be making roster changes and trades to suit the 2022 season, which will be played on Overwatch 2, and will use the new 5v5 format, rather than Overwatch's 6v6 system. While announcements likely won't start becoming official for at least another few days, we can probably look forward to some serious shake-ups over this off season.
