Following a long and very successful career, the Swedish Counter-Strike: Global Offensive professional Richard "Xizt" Landström has announced his retirement from competitive play. Announced over Twitter, Xizt mentioned that while he is done playing, he isn't done with Counter-Strike yet.

"It's time for me to announce my retirement as a player," said Xizt. "My career has had its ups and downs, but looking back it's been an amazing and unforgettable journey. Thanks to all my teammates and everyone that has been a part of it, and a big thanks especially to the fans - I'm really grateful for all the support I've had from you."

Xizt continued, "The future excites me and I'm not walking away from CS yet!"

Known mostly for his time with Ninjas in Pyjamas, Xizt has won various S-Tier events over his career, amassing around $550,000 in prize money over that duration. He has also played for FaZe Calan, Fnatic, and Dignitas over the past few years, but as for what the future holds, management seems to be the plan, however for which organisation he will join, that remains unclear at the moment.
