Luminosity are the CWL Fort Worth champions

After falling to Splyce once they rose to the occasion to fend them off again, claiming the trophy and precious pro points as well.

The Call of Duty World League event in Fort Worth took place this past weekend, and while there were plenty of big names at the Black Ops 4 competition, it was Luminosity Gaming who eventually emerged as winners to claim 25,000 pro points and $125,000 USD in prize money.

Luminosity's Peirce 'Gunless' Hillman was the MVP of the event, although his team wasn't actually top of their group, since they lost to Splyce to come in second place behind them. After that though they had a great run through the playoffs, beating Gen.G 3-2 and Enigma6 3-0 to set up a rematch with Splyce in the winners bracket.

This time the match went 3-1 to Luminosity, but after Splyce beat Reciprocity in the losers bracket they got another chance against LG, one they couldn't take as it was another 3-1 defeat for the team in the grand final.

You might notice that OpTic Gaming is missing from this list, and that's because they fell relatively early on, something that disappointed Ian 'Crimsix' Porter, who tweeted:

"Really wanted to win this tournament and dedicate it to my grandpa who just passed away last week but at the end of the day we didn't set ourselves up for success. We didn't put in the extra work and it showed."

Can Luminosity win more this year?
