$300,000 USD is on the line for 12 of the top Dota 2 teams in the world, including one coming from a local qualifier.

ESL and Nodwin Gaming have revealed that they've partnered up to debut an ESL One event in Mumbai from April 19 to 21, where the NSCI Dome will hold 12 of the best Dota 2 teams around the world in an event with a prize pool of $300,000 USD.

A short video teaser can be seen on Twitter, and seven of the teams will be directly invited, with four teams needing to qualify through online qualifiers in Europe, North America, Greater Chian, and Southeast Asia. A local qualifier will also be held in India, and eight of the 12 competing teams will feature on the big stage.

"We can't wait to bring ESL One to a completely new location - especially since this will mark the first big Dota 2 tournament in India", said Ulrich Schulze, Senior Vice President of Product at ESL. "We see great potential in the Indian esports market and are looking forward to further foster the growth of the local scene together with our partner NODWIN Gaming."

Of course it's not just the tournament that'll be at ESL One Mumbai, as there are other activities like a cosplay competition and meet-and-greets. If all of this sounds fun, you should know that tickets go on sale this Thursday, January 17, at 15:00 local time (09:30 GMT), with more details available here.

Is Mumbai set to be a killer event?
