DreamHack Anaheim 2022 has been cancelled

The regional Halo Championship Series event will now take place as a standalone event.

DreamHack Anaheim 2022 has officially been cancelled, and will no longer be taking place due to "increased difficulties in hosting the festival in a qualitative way", as the blog post states.

The event, which was previously slated to take place between February 11-13, will no longer happen, meaning several other events that were attached to the event are also being rescheduled and restructured. This in particular affects the Halo Championship Series NA Regional event that was set for DreamHack Anaheim, with that now set to take place as a standalone event at the same venue on the same date. As for the ESL Challenger event, more information on that is set to be revealed at a later date.

Speaking about the cancellation, ESL Gaming's SVP of festivals, Krzysztof Pikiewicz said, "DreamHack creates a space for our community to connect, explore, win, play, and be themselves through an interactive, gaming lifestyle experience and we simply didn't feel like Anaheim would be able to live up to that in February. We are now focusing on DreamHack Dallas and DreamHack Summer in June and can't wait to welcome our community back at those festivals."
